New Sony Xperia i1 Honami Photo Leaks Online

A new photo allegedly depicting the yet unofficial Sony Xperia i1 Honami smartphone has emerged online, showing the back of the device and providing us with a glimpse at the camera that it will land on shelves with.

Available courtesy of the Xperia Fan Club, the photo does not reveal much of the handset, especially since the megapixel count for the snapper is marked with XX. However, the guys over at Android Beat claim that the image was showing a prototype of the device, and not a final unit, and that the XX mark is meant to hide the actual megapixel count for the camera.

Previous rumors on the matter suggested that Honami would be set to arrive on shelves with a 20.1-megapixel snapper, which would make it one of the best camera phones in Sony’s current Xperia lineup. Furthermore, the Android-based smartphone is rumored to pack a 5-inch full HD screen, a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and the usual connectivity capabilities.

iPad 5 Rear Shell Photos Leaked, Looks like iPad mini’s

FanaticFone.com claims to have obtained the aluminum enclosure destined to hold the guts of Apple’s iPad 5. The images are on par with the rumors, and the leak seems solid.

The blog shares a number of photos which show a clearly redesigned full-size iPad chassis, complete with new volume buttons, speaker grills, and chamfered edges. The screen bezel will reportedly be thinner, and the whole design seems to be on par with that of the iPad mini, as previously rumored.

In all fairness, the iPad 5 will be a bigger iPad mini packing what will probably be the fastest A-series chip ever made, a Retina display, better cameras, and iOS 7. The photos in the gallery below are in no way any confirmation that the iPad 5 will look like this, but the leak seems legitimate from where I stand.

BBM for Android Screenshot Emerges Online

Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is getting ready for the launch of its BlackBerry Messenger service to Android and iOS devices, and a screenshot that allegedly shows it running on an Android smartphone is now available online.

Unfortunately, the photo only shows the login screen of BBM on a Samsung Galaxy S III and doesn’t unveil much on the features and capabilities that users will enjoy with it, but it does confirm that the release date is getting close. According to BGR, which brought said photo to the web, the application is working pretty well, and should be officially released in the not too distant future.

Previously, BlackBerry announced that it had planned on making BBM available on Android and iOS before the end of the summer, yet no specific launch date has been provided.

Motorola Details the X8 Computing System

Last month, mobile phone maker Motorola made official a new series of devices set to land on shelves as part of the popular DROID lineup at Verizon Wireless, all powered by a new chip, the Motorola X8, which the vendor calls a computing system, and which has just gotten detailed.

The new system packs a setup of eight processors, and is expected to power the Moto X smartphone that should become official as soon as today, a recent article on PCMag notes. Motorola X8 arrives with a dual-core CPU from Qualcomm, a quad-core processor, a single-core nature language processor, and a single contextual CPU, SlashGear explains. All of them work together to deliver a better user experience, it seems.

However, Iqbal Arshad, Motorola's senior vice president of engineering, told PCMag that the company had actually customized the chips and had also tweaked the firmware so as to provide hardware-software optimizations to increase the overall performance of smartphones.
