Sharp AQUOS 206SH with 5’’ Full HD Screen and 3080 mAh Battery

Japanese mobile phone maker Sharp has recently launched a new high-end smartphone, in the form of AQUOS Phone Xx SoftBank 206SH, a device that, although it packs a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, can still deliver two days of usage time.

The smartphone was launched with a 3080 mAh battery inside, which is said to have enough juice to support two-day usage. The new device also sports a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor inside, along with a 13.1-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with f/1.9 optics, and Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.

Furthermore, the specs list of this device is said to include 1-Seg digital TV, LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, infrared port, and the usual set of sensors. The phone is also said to be waterproof. The smartphone will be released as part of SoftBank’s Summer 2013 line-up, and can already be seen on Sharp’s website.

Huawei P6-U06 New Photos Emerges with Super Slim Body

Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei has been recently rumored to plan the launch of the world’s slimmest device, namely the Huawei P6-U06, and leaked photos with the device are now available for your viewing pleasure.

The mobile phone has already received the necessary approvals in China, and is expected to land on shelves at only 6.18mm thin, though specific info on when it might be officially announced hasn’t emerged as of now.  There’s no telling on whether the leaked photos with the device – which emerged over at NowhereElse – are the real deal, especially since no Huawei logo can be seen on the handset.

According to Engadget, it should not be too long before the smartphone is officially announced, even if Huawei hasn’t confirmed anything on it as of now. Stay tuned for more on this.

MSI Wind Top AE1941 All-in-One Computer

Micro-Star International isn't one for short announcements, which is why it dedicated quite a few words to the introduction of the Wind Top AE1941 all-in-one personal computer.

MSI isn't looking to win any performance prizes. Instead, it basically covered the necessities and focused on energy efficiency and space saving instead. It also made sure to include multimedia sharing functions, as well as a touch panel for that 18.5-inch LCD (liquid crystal display). The screen is just about what one would expect, though with perhaps a lower resolution than warranted. The LED backlighting is normal enough, but the native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels might leave something to be desired when Full HD is basically normal now (1920 x 1080 pixels). Then again, MSI strove to make this a mid-range or lower-end computer, one for people who just want a good means of surfing the web and such.

Thus, the CPU is a relatively low-key Celeron 847, with 2 MB cache memory and two cores at 1.1 GHz each (no Hyper-Threading). Speaking of which, the CPU is backed by 4 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz RAM (a single SO-DIMM included, hence this top limit). A 2.5-inch SATA III HDD (hard disk drive) ads 320 GB of storage space to the equation, with a 3 in 1 card reader opening avenues for even more. Other specs include a pair of 3W speakers, a Super Multi DVD writer, Wi-Fi, audio connectors (in and out), four USB 2.0 ports (two at the back, two on the side), LAN and microphone.

All the hardware is managed by the Intel NM70 chipset and packed inside a frame small and light enough to mount on the wall if needed, using the MSI mounting kit (no VESA universal mount here, apparently).  Sadly, the press release did not have information on pricing and availability, though we assume sales should already be underway.

Allegedly Leaked LG Smartphone Rumored to Be Optimus G2

A photo of a new LG smartphone has been recently spotted online, and rumor has it that it might show the previously leaked Optimus G2 smartphone, although no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

The aforementioned smartphone emerged in a photo leaked by @evleaks via Facebook, who claims that this might indeed be Optimus G2, supposedly set to be officially announced later this year. The original Optimus G was made official in fall last year, and its successor might be announced when the summer is over this year, at least this is what the previous rumors on the matter suggested.

For the time being, however, no official info on the device has been provided, nor on what LG might pack inside it in terms of hardware. Details should be unveiled soon, so stay tuned.

Nokia Lumia 928 Spotted on Billboard

Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has been long rumored to plan the launch of a new high-end Windows Phone 8-based smartphone called Nokia Lumia 928, and some more proof on the matter has emerged.

The device has been allegedly spotted on a billboard, where it was touted with the best camera in low-light conditions, a recent article on mynokiablog reads. The photo appears to be real, but, given the hype around the upcoming launch of the smartphone, we should take it with a grain of salt for the time being, especially since there’s no official confirmation on the device as of now.

According to the latest rumors on the matter, however, the smartphone might be officially announced as soon as this week, or the next at the latest, so stay tuned to learn more on it.

First 8-Inch Windows Blue Tablet Specs Leaked

Word is that Microsoft will launch the second-generation Surface tablet next month at BUILD, including a smaller unit with an 8-inch display.

Acer, on the other hand, is already one step ahead, with sources familiar with the matter claiming that the company has already completed the development of an 8.1-inch device that's likely to hit the market shortly after Windows Blue goes live. Engadget has come across a pre-order page on Amazon that allowed users to reserve an Acer Iconia W3 before the public launch, even though no specifics on the release date are available.

According to the listing, which was removed a few hours ago, the tablet features an 8.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x800, an Intel Atom A4 1.5 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Pricing is expected to start at $379.99 (€290). Acer Iconia W3 is very likely to be powered by Windows 8.1 / Blue, as the tech giant Microsoft is believed to be tweaking its next Windows release in order to handle smaller devices as well, including 7- and 8-inch tablets.

New Details on Motorola Ghost (X Phone)

Motorola appears to be moving closer to the official unveiling of its new series of smartphones, which should hit the market under the X Phone tag, and some more info on one of them has emerged online.

The handset, supposedly none other than the Motorola Ghost smartphone spotted online a while ago, has reemerged recently, and some additional details on its specs list are now available, courtesy of  9to5google. Rumor has it that Motorola might plan on packing the device with 32GB of internal memory, as well as with 2GB of RAM, but that there will be no microSD memory card slot included in the package.

The Android 4.2-based smartphone is also said to include a 4.3-inch or a 4.7-inch touchscreen display, a small bezel, and support for 4G LTE networks. According to some of the previous reports on the matter, the Motorola Ghost might land on shelves in the US at multiple wireless carriers.

Samsung Preparing Tizen-Based GT-I8800/GT-I8805 Smartphones

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is expected to bring to the market Tizen-based devices before the end of this year, and some possible info on the first such devices from the company has emerged online.

Two smartphones packing Tizen OS on top have been spotted online, namely the GT-I8800 and GT-I8805, and both of them are said to arrive on shelves with support for 4G LTE connectivity packed inside. No official info on these handsets has been spotted, but Ameblo stumbled upon the following code that points at the existence of these smartphones:

"Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Tizen 2.1; en-us; SAMSUNG GT-I8800) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/2.1.0 Mobile"

Samsung has already confirmed plans to make its first Tizen smartphones official before the end of this year, but did not provide additional details on the matter.

MSI Big Bang Z87 XPower Mainboard

Last month, NVIDIA offered the first teaser of its upcoming flagship motherboard based on the Z87 Lynx Point chipset.

There was even a video of the product, though it didn't really reveal much. It wouldn't have been a teaser if it had. I hoped the next time I saw the motherboard would be in a true press release, but that's not the case.  Instead, MSI has revealed a second teaser, though not in video form. It's just a photo this time, posted on Facebook.

It shows the all-black paint job and the X logo embedded on both sides of one of the three heatsinks covering the Military Class IV components (Super Ferrite Chokes, Black Solid state capacitors, 16 VRM power phases). MSI Big Bang Z87 XPower is really shaping up as one of the best Haswell-ready motherboards yet.
