Bitfenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Case Enters

For people who just don't like to take laptops to gaming gatherings, BitFenix has created the Prodigy mini-ITX desktop case, for miniature PCs that are also powerful.

BitFenix isn't going to tell you what motherboard you should buy in order to have all you need to build a strong computer. What the company will do is make sure you have a good-looking and tough case to keep that beast of yours in. The Shinobi and Colossus are exhibit A. Exhibit B and C came out a while ago two, along with some others, so we aren't sure what letter we're at now, especially since BitFenix also has fans and card readers for sale, among other things. As such, we'll just go ahead and say what's so great about the BitFenix Prodigy.

One thing is the size: this is a very small case, for mini-ITX motherboards, which is the smallest type of mainboard that can also manage decently in gaming PCs. The inside of the prodigy holds a modular FlexCage, with space for up to five 3.5-inch HDDs or 2.5-inch SSDs. It can be removed too, should one desire to fit large (240mm) watercooling radiators and graphics cards instead. One 5.25-inch drive bay exists as well, plus extra places where SSDs can be installed, bringing the maximum number of storage devices to 10 (9 SSDs + ODD).

"The wave of enthusiast class mini-ITX motherboards is upon us, and with Prodigy, users finally have a case to match," says BitFenix Product Manager, David Jarlestedt. "No longer will users have to choose between compact size and blazing performance. With Prodigy, mini-ITX users can finally have it all.". BitFenix Prodigy is made of steel and plastic and has two PCI expansion slots at the back, interchangeable front facades, tool-free installation, filtered air intakes, the BitFenix SofTouch Surface Treatment and a side I/O panel with two USB 3.0 ports and HD audio jacks (speaker/mic). The price is $79 (63 Euro) and every other relevant and not so relevant bit of info is listed here, so check it all out.
