Samsung Preparing Full HD AMOLED Screens for Future High-End Smartphones

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly gearing up for the production of full HD AMOLED touchscreens of its high-end smartphones, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The company was already said to be working on full HD LCD panels, and it seems that it has also managed to come up with AMOLED displays capable of delivering a 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution.  The new screens use the FMM technology and will sport a pixel density of 440ppi, DDaily reports. Samsung might pack the new panels in handsets that sport screens of at least 5 inches, just as previous reports on the matter have suggested. However, it remains to be seen whether the company will have the displays ready in time for next year’s Galaxy lineup.

Recently, Samsung has made official the Nexus 10 tablet PC, which comes with a 2560 x 1600 UltraHD display measuring 10.1 inches diagonally.
