Samsung’s Windows Phone 8 Devices with Galaxy S III-Like Performance

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is getting ready for the release of great Windows Phone 8 devices later this year, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Following rumors on the possibility that the company was considering using Galaxy S III hardware to power the Windows Phone 8 products, some more info on the matter emerged.

A recent article on SmartHouse claims that a Samsung executive has already confirmed that a Windows Phone 8 device featuring a Super AMOLED screen was in the works.

Additionally, the company’s official is cited stating that the upcoming smartphone will be “as good” as the recently unveiled Android device.

The handset was also confirmed to be included in the Focus series, capable of impressing people as much as the Galaxy smartphones can.

Moving forth, Samsung will also launch Windows 8-based tablet PCs, most probably set to hit shelves in the fourth quarter of the year as well.

The info on Samsung’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone matches what WP Life learned from one of their “trusted sources.”

Apparently, Windows Phone 8 will arrive with a wide range of enhancements when compared to the current software, and will offer support for much more powerful hardware.

Thus, dual- and quad-core architecture could be included inside Windows Phone 8 devices, although Microsoft and its partners have yet to confirm any such features.

When it comes to Samsung’s said device, supposedly called Focus S II, rumored specs include a 4.7-inch HD display and 4G LTE connectivity capabilities, along with the more powerful application processor.

Additionally, the phone is said to sport a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, complemented by a 2MP camera on the front. It would also feature NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities, improved photo studio, Samsung Cloud Support, and more.

Since nothing has been confirmed on this until now, we’ll take these details with a grain of salt, but we’ll also keep an eye out for additional info.
