Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Lands on Oppo Finder, But Isn't Final Yet

Oppo Finder, the handset that Oppo Mobile made available in summer as the thinnest Android device in the world, has just received an update to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

The new software release is not available for all units out there, as it is only in a preview state at the moment, but the handset vendor says it is working hard on making it available for everyone. Apparently, the software version that the company is touting at the moment still has a lot of bugs packed inside, which would greatly affect users’ experience with it. Some of the problems that have been spotted include crashing apps, as well as various issues with the wireless connectivity, but the company is working on addressing them as soon as possible. Even with these problems, the OS upgrade should still prove a great software for all users, especially since it brings along performance enhancements for the device, along with some appealing new features, Android Authority notes. At the moment, the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean platform for Oppo Finder does not offer support for upgrades over-the-air, which means that users interested in installing a new OS flavor on their devices would have to do it manually.

Clearly, there might be some enthusiasts willing to give the new software release a try, especially since Oppo has already made it available for download, but the rest are advised to wait for the final flavor of the upgrade to arrive. Oppo Finder is a highly appealing device, although it might not be the best there is, or the highest performing. It was launched with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display on the front, and with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor packed inside, complemented by 1GB of RAM. The handset is only 6.65mm thick, and sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording.
