BlackBerry Windermere Leaks in Live Photos and Specs Detailed

The next BlackBerry smartphone to be released by the Canadian company, the long-rumored BlackBerry Windermere has just leaked online in live photos, along with its specs sheet.

Windermere is the internal name of the smartphone, which might as well go on sale as BlackBerry Q30. However, the information will only be confirmed when BlackBerry decides to go official with the device. BlackBerry Windermere comes with both physical QWERTY keyboard and an unusual touchscreen display. According to N4BB, the Winderemere should boast a 4+ inch full HD LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1440 x 1440 pixels resolution and features 480 dpi. On the inside, the smartphone is said to be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 processor, but the clock value is unknown for the moment. The good news is the Windermere will pack no less than 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit. The 13-megapixel camera on the back features single LED flash and autofocus. There's also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

BlackBerry Windermere will be powered by a high-capacity 3450 mAh battery, which is said to be non-removable. The device comes with microSD card slot as well. Another interesting piece of information provided by the leaker is the fact that the physical keyboard can be used the same as you would use a TrackPad. Users will be able to swipe from left to right in order to delete words with the physical keyboard. Design-wise, BlackBerry Windermere should be lighter and thinner than the Z30, which shouldn't be too hard to achieve considering the latter weighs around 170g (battery included). Around the device, as you may have already noticed from the pictures, there's a stainless steel bezel, which strongly resembles that of the BlackBerry Q10.

The left side of the unannounced smartphone does not feature any physical buttons, while the volume keys seem to have been placed on the right side. BlackBerry Windermere borrowed something from the Z3's design and that's the charging port on the bottom. Last but not least, the upcoming high-end smartphone will also come with dual speakers which are placed on top and bottom of the front side. No word on when exactly BlackBerry will go official with the Windermere, but apparently the design is not final, as source close to the matter claim the smartphone's back cover will be made of glass weave not just plastic.
